The sense of time remains carved deep into the souls of human
beings. We cannot imagine a life without counting minutes, days, months and
years. The sparkling sun to the calendar hanging on the wall remind us of the time
every now and then. They create a sense of deep fear that the ‘time is running
out’. We tend to run behind things because we know the time is running.
There are two crows sitting outside on the branches of my
windows. They are together always, enjoying the whooshing wind and eating the pieces of
coconuts and bread they got from the canteen backyard. Aren’t they entangled with
the fear of losing time? Aren’t they not aware of the race that happens around
them? There is no calendar to remind them, nor the watches tied on their wings.
But, they do wake up to the sun, whom we made as the ultimate determiner for
time measurement.
